The year is AD533. Within the last century, the Western Roman Empire has been wiped from the face of the earth. However, the final bastion of Rome's glory lives on in the Roman Empire of the East; this still formidable power dreams fitfully of regaining its lost grandeur. Emperor Justinian knows there is but one desperate gamble left - an ambitious and dangerous venture to recover what is rightfully his, to reconquer the West before all that Rome once stood for is lost to history. The task is Herculean, with barbarian kingdoms now established and thriving throughout the Mediterranean; there is only one possible man to lead such an expedition. His father's former bodyguard, hero of the Battle of Dara, and the ruthless suppressor of the Nika riots. Belisarius is the final hope of a dying Empire, the Last of the True Romans. 

A Unique Campaign with New Gameplay MechanicsThe Last Roman Campaign Pack is an epic expansion for Total War: ATTILA, delivering a narrative, mission-based experience on a new, highly-detailed campaign map of the Mediterranean theatre. Charging the veteran Total War player with the role of Belisarius and his Roman Expedition, you must reclaim Rome's lost territories from the savage, hostile forces. The struggle to fulfil your duty as servant of the Emperor Justinian is brought to life by a series of new story events and missions. The Emperor, the Empress and your own wife, Antonina, vie for your attention, demanding arduous and often contradictory services. Completing these tasks will provide you with the men and supplies you need, but offending the wrong person will greatly weaken the fragile Expedition. Alternatively, you might declare independence and attempt to re-establish the Western Roman Empire under your own banner, seeking glory and immortality away from the court at Constantinople. Will you stay loyal to Justinian's vision of reclaiming Rome from the barbarians? Or will you follow your own path, establishing yourself as a new Emperor in the West? 

New Campaign MapThe Last Roman's Campaign map is a vast and highly-detailed representation of central Western Europe in 533 AD, featuring 35 provinces across over 100 regions, including Italy, North Africa, Spain and France. 
Playable FactionsThe Last Roman offers five playable factions – the brand new Roman Expedition but also the Ostrogoths, Vandals, Franks and the Visigoths – each one featuring its own faction traits and new campaign starting-position. The Vandalic Kingdom is threatened by rebellious Sardinia and the looming Roman danger, while the Ostrogothic Kingdom is hamstrung by its pro-Roman queen and the demands of an unworkable alliance. Both seek to solidify their borders and make the most of Italy's rich and fertile lands; but Belisarius' reputation precedes him, and they know a cornered animal will fight to the last. For the Franks and the Visigoths, the return of the Romans presents an opportunity. Both are growing kingdoms, fuelled by youthful vigour and a thirst for conquest. Experienced players in Total War must assume the role of Belisarius, lead his Roman expedition and take the Roman lands from hostile savages. 
You are the servant of the Emperor Justinian, and you have to fulfill your duty for a whole series of missions and historical events. The Emperor, the Empress, even your own wife, Antonia, will fight for your attention, setting difficult and often contradictory tasks for you. Do these tasks to get new fighters and replenish supplies, but be careful if you offend the wrong person. The future of your entire expedition will be in jeopardy. 
On the other hand, you can proclaim independence, restore the Western Roman Empire under your own banners and achieve glory and immortality far from Constantinople. 
Will you remain loyal to the emperor and take for him Rome from the barbarians? Or will you go your own way and create your own empire in the West? 
New Campaign Map 
The campaign card 'The Last Roman' is distinguished by the huge size and accuracy of the reconstruction of Western Europe 533 AD. You are waiting for 35 provinces and more than 100 regions, including the territories of Italy, North Africa, Spain and France. 
Factions for the game 
In the campaign 'The Last Roman' you are waiting for five factions - in addition to the new Roman expedition there are Ostrogoths, Vandals, Franks and Visigoths - each of the factions has its own unique features and unique starting points of the campaign. 
New units 
In addition to the returned familiar combat units, the main factions of the 'Last Romans' campaign have the following troops. 
New technologies and buildings 
The Campaign 'The Last Roman' includes a lot of new technologies and buildings. 
The Roman expedition has a heavily altered Roman technology tree with 20 new technologies, and a completely new unique tree of buildings.
